Our First Projects

These are the volunteer projects we're launching with. Each one is a real opportunity to make a tangible difference — once we have volunteers ready to deliver.

Our Founding Goal

1,000 volunteer hours in our first year.

We're building toward 1,000 volunteer hours in 2026. That's roughly 100 people giving 10 hours each over the course of the year — assembling welcome kits, delivering meals, celebrating birthdays, restocking the Comfort Closet.

The Process

How projects work.

Every project has a clear start, owner, and follow-through.

1

A social worker identifies a need

Case managers who work with foster and adoptive families refer specific needs.

2

We activate a project

Hogan reviews the referral and creates a specific project with a clear scope and timeline.

3

A volunteer claims it

Volunteers browse available projects and choose one that fits their schedule and interests.

4

The family is supported

The volunteer completes the project, and we follow up to make sure everything went well.

We're still setting up this system. Sign up to volunteer and we'll notify you when the first projects are ready.

What you'll do.

Clear scope. Practical instructions. A direct line to support when you need it.

Welcome Home Kit

When a child arrives in a new placement, the house is often underprepared. We'll assemble Welcome Home Kits with essentials: bedding, toiletries, a stuffed animal, snacks. A tangible way to say “you belong here.”

Birthday Box

Every child deserves a birthday. We'll coordinate with families to deliver birthday boxes — cake mix, candles, a banner, a small gift. Because the date on the calendar shouldn't be invisible.

Back-to-School Supply Drive

New school year, new school, sometimes new everything. We'll coordinate supply drives so kids arrive ready — backpacks, notebooks, pencils, the basics no one should have to go without.

Meal Train

When a new placement arrives, a new baby comes home, or the family is going through a hard stretch, a meal train takes one thing off the list. Volunteers sign up for specific delivery slots.

Finalization Day Celebration

Finalization Day is the legal moment a child becomes part of a family forever. It deserves to be celebrated. We'll help coordinate a small gathering — balloons, cake, presence.

Family Day Out

Sometimes a family needs a day that feels normal. We'll help coordinate a sponsored outing — a day at the park, a movie, a picnic — with volunteer support so parents can just be present.

3–4 hoursLooking for founding volunteers

Comfort Closet Restocking

We'll build a Comfort Closet stocked with diapers, clothing, school supplies, and household items. Volunteers help restock it as it's used.

Holiday Gift Drive

The holidays are a hard time in the foster care system. We'll coordinate holiday gift drives so every child on our network's caseload has something under the tree.
